The PATS control is a stand alone module. When you turn the key to RUN/START, the theft warning light turns on for 2-seconds. Only 1 key needs to be programmed for the system to work. Up to 16 keys can be programmed. The transceiver sends the key code signal via a hardwired connection to the control module.
The system should be reset. Insert the key into the driver's side door lock. Turn the key once, but not all the way to unlock the door. Leave the key in this position for 40-60 seconds. Do this again, but turn the key in the opposite direction. Remove the key from the door, get into your Ford, and start the engine.

This radio unlock code is not required for normal operations. It's purpose is to deter a potential thief from removing the stereo. If the factory car stereo is stolen from the vehicle, the radio becomes inoperable without the radio code. Operating the unit will require a "secret stereo unlock code" known only by the owner.
The IA key still locks and unlocks the car but does not disable the theft system. In the manual it mentioned an alternate way of starring the car where you place the IA key up against the area where a normal ignition would be (this is a push start not a key turn car). It disabled the anti theft system but did not allow the engine to start.
If your alarm has an issue – take it to a local garage or call for a mobile mechanic. Step 1: Check the anti-theft light. Most modern cars have a dash light that indicates that the anti-theft system has been triggered. The icon for the anti-theft system looks like a car and a lock combination. When this light is on and flashing (it will be either or blue), it will indicate that your car’s anti-theft system is activated.
Switch the ignition off. Check the fuel system for leaks. If no leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by opening the access panel and pushing in on the reset button. Customer Thanks for your question on Just Answer. The only way to reset the anti theft system on your 500 is at the dealer. The key should still turn and unlock the steering wheel. Just not start. But with the Theft light flashing you definetly hzve a problem. Keith
Super Duty F-350. 2008. If the anti-theft system has been activated in Your 2008 Ford F-350, You'll need to reset it to be able to start the vehicle. Begin by turning the key in the ignition to ON, but don't start the engine. When the display is illuminated, the anti-theft light will likely be blinking, but it might just be on and solid, as well.
